The municipal Petrés term borders on the following localities: Gilet and Sagunto all of them of the province of Valencia.

Municipality placed in the fertile plain goes down the river Palancia, also called in the Middle Age and Modern Riu of Morvedre (?). The relief of the term presents only three important accidents: the river Palancia, which limits the term for the south, and the mountains Rodana and Ponera, whose hillsides penetrate for the north, reaching a 185 m maximum altitude. in a sandstones hill triásicas that gets up to the northwest of the population.
The climatic way is the typically Mediterranean one. There is surrounded with garden and ditches of epoch Roman (?) that they were developed and extended by the Muslims. It is to 28 km from Valencia and to 2 km of Sagunto. One gains access to this village, from Valencia, taking the V-21 and then the A-23.

Although his name does not appear in Llibre del Repartiment, it was a farmhouse of Morvedre (Sagunto) until the XIVth century. In 1340, Pere the Cerimoniós donated this place to Francesc Aguió, and in 1410 Martí l'Humà ratified it addressed to Joan Aguiló Romeu, to whom it granted the baron's title. His Moslem population preserved until 1612. In his municipal term still there exist elements of his medieval past as there are the castle or palace, the stove of the baron, the hort tancat or orchard of the gentleman, the oil-mill of the oil, as well as the cisterns: the Pou, l'Aixeta and l'aljub, in addition to the mills Moret, Malany and of Peris.

Based traditionally on the agriculture. The principal cultivation is the orange tree to which the carob follows him, the medlar and the rest in irrigation is destined for vegetables.
It had a fireworks factory. Part of his population is employed at the industries of the Port of Sagunto.

* Parochial church. It is dedicated to Santiago Apóstol. The current temple began to construct in 1435, ending in 1588, being reconstructed in the XVIIIth century. The chapel of the Communion was built between 1800 and 1803 and it has paintings to the fresh air of Joaquín Oliet bendecidas in 1818.
* L'Ermita. was constructed in 1725 and it is dedicated to Santo Domingo
# l'Almàssera. Building with door of semicircular arch and shield nobililario.
# Palace of the baron of Petrés. On a small elevation there are the remains of the one that was his residence built in the XVth century.
# Forn of the baró. I build that it served ovenproof of the gentleman desdel XVth century until the XXth.
# L'Aixeta. Medieval Algibe that at present serves like place of exhibitions and care an ethnological museum.
# Hort Tancat. Construction in half of the garden documented in the XVIIth century but possibly raised during the XV - XVIth century, in which the gentleman had his garden and allowed to graze his herd.
His management holidays are dedicated to San Jaime, Sant Jaume on July 25, and to the Purest of Petrés. These two festivities were organized by the town hall, the first one always, the second one when they had not clavarios married to do the holiday. These holidays have his origin in the ground, in the agriculture, in thanksgiving for the obtained harvests. The origin of both festivities is very ancient, being the first one of medieval origin and that of the Purest of August 7, 1687.
As if it was the boss, the most important Petrés festivity until the XXIst century has been that of the Salvador, which traditionally was celebrated on August 6. The single boys were dedicating this holiday, els fadrins, in whose eve the esperadísima cordà was realized, being the last one realized in the year 2000. At present the holiday of the Purest of Petrés and of the Salvador the first weekend of August is celebrated.
Another two important festivities are the holidays of the girls, they xiques, to the Purest and that of the Xiquet of the Ballot, or Child Jesus of Praga. The origin of the first one is in the middle of the XVIIIth century thanks to the creation of the brotherhood of Maria's Donzellas that was celebrating the holidays on Sunday of after September 8, happening later to the first Sunday of September and at present to the August last one. After this holiday there is celebrated the dels Xiquets, which there celebrate those that have realized the first communion or children of these ages. The martyr D. Vicente Garzando founded the holiday in 1934 so that the children had also their own holiday. This festivity is much known by theTowns of the region of Camp of Morvedre and also very crowded.
Also the Meeting is celebrated from 1699 with his Enramà the day of Easter, very emotive and typical procession along the environment of the streets replete with branches of pine, medlars, oliveras and palm trees between other trees.
Other important festivities are: Sant Antoni, Sant Blai, Corpus Christi and the Trawlers to the carrer.
