The municipal term of Llosa of Ranes borders on the following localities: Alcántara of Júcar, Benegida, Játiva, Rotglá and Corbera and Villanueva of Castellón, all of them of the province of Valencia.
The origins of the population are located in a playtime place in the Arab epoch, with mosque and baths. After the conquest, Jaime I distributed these grounds, being founded the current village with the name of Lloesa, taking the surname of one of his gentlemen in 1520 Juan Sanz of the Llosa sold the dominion to several neighbors of Játiva and of the same Llosa.
It was a Moriscos' place and he remained almost depopulated in 1609. It was repopulated by old Christians and in 1646 it was provided with 23 houses (100 persons). At the end of the XVIIIth century, in 1794, it was already provided with 291 houses and more than 1000 inhabitants, doubling his number in the XIXth (2024 inhabitants in 1897).
The principal cultivation is the grape of table, the tobacco and the sour fruit-juices. Not cultivated areas have scrub and good pine groves in the shady ones that look at the vale of the Júcar. There is dairy, porcine, goat and poultry cattle, but in small proportions.
