The municipal Sollana term borders on the following localities: Albalat of the Bank, Algemes�, Alginet, Almusafes, Benifay�, Chair, Swede and Valencia, all of them of the province of Valencia.

The Sollana origin assumes to a primitive poblamiento visig�tico. In the period of Moslem domination it appears with the name of Suylana and it was a head of an area in which there were remaining included the hamlets of the Roman�, Alcahecia and Trull�s. After the Christian conquest in the XIIIth century, Jaime I donated it to the H�jar house.

Placed in the proximities of the lake of the Lagoon. The relief is completely flat for there is this term located in a sedimentary area of recent period, caused by the draggings of the river J�car that thinks up something more at midday. On the north part, bordering on the Lagoon, the areas are swampy. In general, the horizontalidad of the area and the encharcamiento favors the plantations of rice, cultivation that brings a special physiognomy to this municipality.
